Things I Have To Squeeze In This Weekend

Wow, it's turning out to be a crazy weekend.

Besides the insomniac activities of Nuit Blanche, I have to manage to squeeze in a screening of Lindsay the Alchemist playing at the First Take International Student Film Festival this Saturday, September 30.

Fearing she is up to no good, Lindsay has locked herself up and thrown away the key in this dark and manic fable. Created by artist, Benjamin Dickerson, Lindsay the Alchemist screens at the Club Motel at 77 Peter St as part of the "Truth in Fiction" Program starting at 6:30 pm.

First Take continues on October 14, 28 and closes November 11, and screens sixty-three films, forty-three of which are World Premiers, from over five countries. Screenings are $8.00 and start at 3pm, 5pm, and 6:30pm.

And then of course I cannot forget to vote for the Toronto Sculpture Garden's 25 Anniversary Viewers' Choice Award before the September 30 deadline. I have to choose from the fifty-five exhibitions that have been mounted since the TSG opened in 1981. After viewing all the fabulous selections, I still can't make up my mind.
