Le Gourmand owner Milton Nunes recently took over the space formerly occupied by KiWe at King and Portland, filling it with a high-tech espresso machine, cases full of baked goods, and a kitchen that will soon be cranking out light breakfast dishes. There are a few welcome similarities to Le Gourmand - notably, its stellar cookies - but the new cafe is a spot all its own.
