Vietnamese Tet Festival 2017
Celebrate the annual Vietnamese Lunar New Year
January 10, 2017 (Toronto, ON) – You are invited to come and celebrate
with thousands of Vietnamese Canadians at the 32nd Annual Lunar New Year
Tet Festival at the International Centre on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
Hosted by the Vietnamese Association, Toronto (VAT), the Tet Festival is
the largest annual gathering of Vietnamese Canadians with an estimated
attendance of more than 8,000 visitors. We will be marking Canada's 150th
birthday with special performances to show our appreciation to our new
homeland.
The opening ceremony will include remarks by the Honourable Elizabeth
Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the Honourable John McCallum,
Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship and other special
guests.
Watch live cultural performances and experience the best in Vietnamese
food, fashion and culture. Internationally renowned Vietnamese
entertainers and community groups will perform on stage throughout the
day. You will have the opportunity to take pictures with models in the
elaborately staged Vietnamese Village, play cultural games, sing karaoke
songs, visit vendors and booths, enjoy interactive games for children and
much more.
“We would like to thank Canada and our extended Canadian families who
opened their hearts and greeted us with open arms in our darkest days
after the fall of Saigon some 40 years ago,” said Dr. Kien Le, VAT
President. “In the spirit of multiculturalism, we would like to continue
sharing our history, culture and traditions to create a better
understanding and to promote a bright Canadian future.”
The Tet Festival 2017 is pleased to have the support of TD Canada Trust as
the title sponsor.
