No Lights No Lycra is a casual free-form dance class in the dark for the pure joy of dancing.
There's no lights, no lycra, no teacher, no steps to learn, no technique, just complete freedom to move and dance like no-one is watching, because no-one is!
There is no need to book a place, just show up when you’re in the mood for a dance!
Bring: water bottle and comfortable clothes to dance in.
No Lights No Lycra:
is a place for people to come and dance freely in a friendly, non-threatening, drug and alcohol free atmosphere.
is an event that occurs in a dimly lit room: with the lights low people can truly dance without worrying about what they look like.
is a time to dance independently in the company of others – in order for people to truly lose themselves in the music it is important to keep talking to a minimum.
is not about technique and being a ‘good’ dancer, it’s about the experience of dancing with no one watching and the joy that this brings.
is a place to exercise at your own pace while having fun.
promotes a healthy mind and a healthy body.
is about making dance accessible for everyone.
It is an inclusive event – open to all ages, genders, backgrounds and demographics.
is a place to shake out the stresses of the week, let go of your inhibitions and completely be yourself.

Two Way Touring has recently started working with StillNative, an amazing two-piece raw beat rock outfit from Ottawa with a renowned live show and a tireless work ethic. They are coming to town to be joined by Jason (of the Skirt Chasers) and Alex Beraldo (The Breaks) for a sweet build up to rock. Expand for full info!
Alex Beraldo (http://alexberaldo.bandcamp.com/) @ 9:30:
The Breaks have played with StillNative a few times before, but they are on a Toronto show break right now. No problem! Alex Beraldo is going to play a rare solo set to kick the night off. Come and hear the frontman of the Breaks -- a band who is at or near the top of the college radio charts all over Canada right now show you where his songs come from.
Jason Legge @ 10:15:
When it comes to taste, Jason has some of the best musical tastes in Toronto, so I knew when I sent him the link to StillNative he would love it. And he did. For this show Jason will be joined by Pete Ross (The Speaking Tongues) and other guests TBA. It is going to be something to see!
Note the early start time! Yes it is a Weds night but I want as few excuses as possible to miss this set. I can't put into words how excited I am to be working with this band because they are probably in the top 10 live bands in Ontario. The band has earmarked 2014 for a lot of touring and that means there is a great chance they are going to finally break out this year. This is your chance to get on the bandwagon early!
