In the early eighties, one woman turned down an editing job on E.T. The Extra Terrestrial in order to produce and direct her own picture. That film, was SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE. The woman, was Amy Holden Jones - who continued to direct, write and produce major films in Hollywood throughout the late-nineties.

Originally written as a spoof of slasher-horror flicks by feminist writer and activist Rita Mae Brown, and financed by Roger Corman, SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE is the quintessential cheapie-slasher.

The film takes classic set-up (a recently escaped coo-coo-loony murderer attacks teenage girls at their slumber party) and packs it full of false scares, gratuitous nudity, comedic moments, pizza, sly feminist satire and of course: phallic power-drills.
