T.O. Webfest 2016
The 3rd annual T.O. Webfest is a 3-day festival and conference, May 27 - 29th showcasing web content from Canada and around the world. Our industry day conference panels, at MaRS Discovery District on Friday May 27, explore funding, marketing and distribution for web content. Our keynote from Ramona Pringle, Canadian digital journalist, and multiplatform media producer, explores,‘The Selfie Manual’, looking at how reaching your audience, and how you engage them to share, create, and involve themselves in your story world, is an essential consideration in the production process. Stick around afterwards for appetizers and drinks and network with industry pros and fellow creators.
Our Creator Day program on Saturday May 28 at the Carlton Cinema will offer emerging and established creators, producers, directors and all-around filmmakers alike, a slate of craft-focused workshops with industry pros, and concurrent web series screenings all day long. The workshops include a Digital Producer's Bootcamp, a Director’s guide to visual storytelling, audio production and music, screenwriting, acting and character development for the web We’ll wrap up with never-seen-beforecreenings of freshly baked new content holding their premieres at T.O .Webfest, followed by social networking.
Sunday May 29 will launch T.O. Webfest's first Interactive Day, featuring an in-depth look at the lifecycle of creating a VR project with moderator and JAM3 Executive Producer, Graham Budd. Explore new worlds, and enjoy the immersive experiences of the several stunning VR projects on display in the Webfest media lounge. Lean back for a special screening of Avatar Secrets, an interactive documentary by Ramona Pringle, then join us in celebration of the T.O. Webfest 2016 award nominees and their work at our creative tie awards event.
