The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience Live at the Linsmore Tavern!!
Friday October 14, all you Stevie Ray Vaughan fans and blues fans this is the night for you, as the Linsmore Tavern welcome for the first time ever, The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience - Canada's Premier Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble! This is going to be a real special night, as The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience is one of the most authentic and respected Tributes in Canada and they will absolutely be a perfect fit to the intimate Linsmore Tavern!
In 1983, the monumental impact of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s debut album launched a thousand musicians and fans into guitar shops and 500,000 people into record stores to buy their copy of Texas Flood . After recording 5 more studio albums and 6 live compilations, Stevie went on to win 6 Grammy awards after being nominated 12 times and selling out countless shows the world over. Though he died more than two decades ago, the guitar legend and his influence can be seen and heard everywhere as it continues to grow.
Few of Stevie’s acolytes likely have the same dedication as Dave Ryan, who has spent the last decade getting the details just right as the front man of the Toronto-based band, The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience. In addition to Dave’s attention to Stevie’s guitar work, vocal stylings, and guitar tone, there are many other visual elements of the show including look-alike hats from Stevie’s favourite, Texas Hatters, replica guitars/amps, and yes, the man even has the same blue peacock tattooed on center of the his chest!
With thousands of hours of rehearsal under his belt, Dave has assembled the perfect players to form Canada’s premier heartfelt tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble.
The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience has been playing all over the Greater Toronto Area. After receiving rave reviews, accompanied by many encore bookings on the club circuit, the band is climbing its way up to larger venues and festivals throughout Southern Ontario.
The band is currently focusing on greater exposure through festivals and casinos throughout North America but they still frequent local hot spots throughout the Toronto area. Recent successful festival performances include The Country & Blues Festival in Burlington and the annual South Side Shuffle Blues & Jazz Festival in Port Credit.
The music is high energy and very danceable. All of SRV’s major hits have been carefully selected to keep everyone’s attention from start to finish. Toes will be tapping and feet will be dancing!
A full night of entertainment from The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience includes:
Pride & Joy / Cold Shot / Voo Doo Chile / Little Wing / Crossfire / Tightrope / Couldn’t Stand The Weather / House Is Rocking / Empty Arms and many more including Stevie’s rendition of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, rockin’ Buddy Guy tunes, and Jimi Hendrix monster hits such as Manic Depression and Purple Haze. Finally, a few gems from ZZ Top whom also had an impact on Stevie’s career.
Q107’s John Garbutt sums up The Stevie Ray Vaughan Experience as accurately as the show captures SRV’s essence… “Musically and visually the real deal…a must see performance!”
