The Hip's Last Show - Screened At Junction City Music Hall
This is going to be a tough one...
First of all, I'll preface this by saying that I'm likely not going to be at this event, but I may be 'at' the show just trying to track down a ticket.
As someone who came of age in the 90's, there were few constants on the Canadian music scene, and none stood taller than the Tragically Hip. For more than a few summers, it seemed like their albums were the soundtrack of road trips and late nights on the dock of a friends cottage. I feel like I could be writing this paragraph, not just for me, but for a lot of my friends.
As I got older, I was fortunate enough to work with both the full band, as well as some of the members individually, and I can say that their reputation of being some of the nicest, most down to earth guys you'll ever encounter is not only true, but very well deserved.
While we aren't going to be charging cover for this event, we will have donation jugs on the bar, with all proceeds going towards the Sunnybrook Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research.
So if you couldn't get a ticket, or couldn't get to Kingston, come on down to your local music hall, and celebrate the career and music of one of Canada's greatest bands.
