Videofag and Theatre a-go-go are pleased to present a 2-day event of gut wrenching folklore by Opera Arcana, the world's first Southern Ontarian Gothic Sound Outfit who will allure you with a Halloween experience using modern advances in adult contemporary sound along with psychic visual device.
The secretive art musical outfit known as Opera Arcana feature post punk experimental and electronic pioneers: GB Jones Fifth Column, Bunny and The Lakers and Minus Smile Kids on TV, Violence and The Sacred, The Partys Over along with Sinteuse Formerly of SPHINXS & The Bang Bangs, currently of Sinteuse and BAD BREED and Jonathan Culp of the band Tomboyfriend, filmmaker, zinester and co-impresario of The Trash Palace.

Southern Ontario Gothic as expressed by Opera Arcana begins with an alien relationship with nature, with the forest, its spirits and voices of the past compose this aesthetic. Vision, gender, mental derangement, 19th century spiritualism and the supernatural influence of early communications technology saturate the work of authors from Susanna Moodie to Margaret Atwood.
Opera Arcana are the modern messengers of Southern Ontario Gothic Music. Jones' and Minus' past and proven legacy is celebrated globally, given their post punk canon. Regardless, their interpretation of SOG keeps loyal yet with arrangements tackled through a lens that celebrates sunshine pop, Dadaism, Brutalism and Gender Variant high fashion. Director and writer Azar experiences their songs as luscious, smart and politically engaging and given they have all worked together since the early 80s, it made sense that she was assigned to write, and stage this exhilarating content, elevating Jones and Minus' vision.
