THe 21st ANNUAL ANNEX FAMILY FESTIVAL
Thousands gather for a full day of music, food and fun to celebrate the diversity of The Annex on June 11th
WHAT: The Annex Family Festival (AFF), presented by the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre and the Bloor Annex BIA, is one of the city’s top street festivals with amusements for all ages. Boasting over 20,000 attendees and 120 vendors every year, the AFF is a free downtown extravaganza stretching from Spadina to Bathurst where pedestrians can enjoy the vibrancy of The Annex, its local businesses, as well as lively festival entertainment, food vendors and activities for the whole family. It’s the perfect way to celebrate summer in the city!
Attractions Include:
• Children’s village including a life-size colouring book, an interactive, electronic hockey net, face painting, button-making, life-sized chess, skateboard and scooter lessons and much more
• The Main Stage opens with Belle, Elsa, & Moana followed by a meet-and-greet
• Street buskers and performers including Brant, the Fire Guy and The Hula Family (free hula hoops all day)
• Local music acts, curated by The Tranzac Club, performing at the Festival Main Stage (Bloor and Brunswick) including Circle 5, The Astrosurfers and more
• Over 120 craft and specialty food vendors
• MNjcc Fitness Challenges with Personal Trainers, Fitness Demos, including Women’s Boxing and Karate
• A lively street parade with Marching Bands – The Woodchoppers Orchestra and Drumhand - starting at either end of the Festival along Bloor, at Spadina and Bathurst, at 11:30 am
• The ROM’s interactive 12-foot blue whale puppet
• Pop-up theatre performances by Toronto FRINGE From 1:00 to 4:00 pm
