Join us for the Opening Reception of That's So Gay: Come Together and the 10x10 Photo Project on June 30th from 7-10pm in the Gladstone Hotel 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor galleries.
That's So Gay: Come Together
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s So Gay is the Gladstone Hotel's annual LGBTTI2QQ themed art exhibition curated by Syrus Marcus Ware that explores themes around sexuality, gender and identity as they intersect with experiences of race, disability, class and multiple identities. TSG: Come Together attempts to interrupt the idea of a homogenous queer community and reimagines what it means to talk about our lived experiences as artists from a diversity of backgrounds.
The 2016 subtitle 'Come Together' refers to many things: a call to action and activism during a year that has witnessed unprecedented coverage of cross-movement building amongst Indigenous, Black and POC Two-Spirited and LGBTTI2QQ communities, collective struggle and the need to unify and call for creative responses to transphobic and homophobic violence that is dis-proportionally affecting Indigenous and racialized trans women. TSG: Come together highlights the need for artistic engagement and responses to propel our activisms into a new dimension.

10x10 Photo Show
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 10×10 Photography Project is proud to return the to Gladstone Hotel this year to feature the photographic work of ten new Canadian queer photographers and 100 new portraits to celebrating LGBTQ Canadians in the arts.
Started in 2010, 10×10 has become a staple visual art exhibition in Toronto, providing a quieter, contemplative space to reflect on the great impact this community has made on the arts, locally, nationally and internationally. To celebrate Pride 2016, the exhibition has expanded to fill three floors, sharing space with That’s So Gay, of the Gladstone Hotel and will be on display for ten weeks from June 8th to August 17th. Each photographer brings their own professional background to the project, representing diverse approaches to portraiture and presentation.
