If you're not familiar with Mlanie:
Based in Toronto, this young singer hails from Cornwall, Ontario, but spent half a decade in Australia. Since returning home three years ago, she's built major inroads in both Ontario and Quebec, and has toured across Canada. She is currently working on a French album, to be released next Spring in part the result of an Ontario Arts Council grant last year to study in Paris.
A versatile song writer and performer, Brule calls her music "bilingual pop cabaret" but she also has another musical life as singer with the local Americana country band, the Ole Fashion.
She also continues to work as a music publicist, and will be part of the Youth Mentorship programme at the Folk Music Ontario conference in Toronto next month.
