Green Space Festival: Disco Disco
Swaying trees, summer breeze and all that boogaloo sleeze, it's everyone's favourite Pride party in the park: Disco Disco!
A jewel in the Pride Sunday crown, this year's afternoon-into-nighttime affair features local Disco duo experts A Digital Needle. Know for their Beam Me Up! residencies with Cyclist, the pair also have a monthly Toronto radio project show called Beam Me Up radio.
Take it from the streets, straight into the roller rink. Local darlings Kris Steeves fit, Faggatronic, Diego Armand Business Woman's Special, Birthday Sex and DJ Phil V fit, Tapette take over the decks for an afternoon of ultra-gay disco classics and edits. You know they take care of you and your body every year.
To finish you off right, Disco Disco is happy to welcome San Francisco's Honey Soundsystem collective for a very special disco set! Their high energy sets started in the gay underground and they now spin around the globe. Their final set will set you free!
Bring your sunglasses, your sunscreen, your removeable items of clothing and don't forget your tip money because there will also be a mighty real performance from RuPaul's Drag Race queen Thorgy Thor and her giant hair!
Get ready to make friends, make night moves and make out, it's Disco Disco!
Beyond a celebration of diversity, the Green Space Festival is an essential fundraising activity for The 519 Community Centre, the hub of the LGBTQ communities life in the heart of Torontos downtown. All funds raised are in support of The 519s essential year-round community programs and services.
