As a pioneering DJ and founding father of the largest non-religious cultural movement in history, Flash has not only managed to find himself inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, but he has been featured in the Smithsonian Institute, and VH1 Hip Hop Honors. He's performed for Queen Elizabeth II, toured with the likes of Rick James and The Clash; and appeared in the classic movie Wild Style.

in 2016, Flash will add another notch to his belt with the premier of the new and highly anticipated Netflix series "The Get Down", on which he serves as an associate producer and advisor. Developed over a 10 year period by Baz Luhrmann The Great Gatsby, Moulin Rouge, Romeo & Juliet, "The Get Down" chronicles life in New York City during the 1970's, with an emphasis on the birth of the hip hop movement. One of the main characters in this exciting new show is Grandmaster Flash, as played by Mamoudou Athie.
