How Far Is Too Far? Atom Egoyan discusses his directorial interpretation in selected opera productions. Egoyan (BA 1982, HON DSL 1992, HON LLD 2003) is a critically acclaimed film and stage director. He has been nominated for two Academy Awards, several awards at the Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival and the Genie Awards. In 2012, he directed a production of Martin Crimp’s Cruel and Tender at Canadian Stage in Toronto. Egoyan was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1999, and was awarded the prestigious Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in April 2015.
