Dizzy, Stacey, Langston Francis: What's In The Box Festival

Drake Underground and Jameson are putting 'festival' back into the season with our very own Boxing Week mini music fest! What's in the Box is back and it's the perfect cure to your mid-holiday hump. We're keeping it chill with 5 acts over 5 nights for only 5 bucks to keep your pocketbook in check.

Dizzy:

Dizzy – a band from the suburb of Oshawa, Ontario - are three brothers - Charlie, Alex and Mackenzie Spencer and their friend Katie Munshaw, who made music to combat the anxieties of the vortex of boredom. Like anyone growing up in the digital age, the band went to basement parties, discovered social media, scraped their knees, fell in love, and felt insecure.

For Dizzy, though, having the suburbs as their playground for experience encouraged them to explore music and art outside of what was right in front of them - and to create their own.

Stacey:

Stacey’s adept refraction of classic lyrical themes through her unique, brooding, and vulnerable voice is matched by her natural gift for minor-key melodies and a lavish vocal phrasing that balances irony and the saccharine, invoking a tear soaked, rose scented atmosphere that intoxicates yet never overwhelms, both on her recordings, and at her floral themed live shows.

Langston Francis:

The vibrant city of Toronto is the creative backdrop behind new artist, Langston Francis.

Pulling inspiration from all of the multifaceted music and cultures the city has to offer, Langston grew up in a world of hip hop, electronica and jazz, vintage boutiques and art spaces – all influences that have helped shape his creativity: “I feel expression shows itself in all aspects of art, and even music is a very visual experience.”
