Descant 166: The Berlin Project Launch Party
Exploring Berlin through poetry and fiction: Descant celebrates its 166th issue!
September 19, 2014 — 1900-2200hrs
The Goethe-Institut Toronto
100 University Ave., 2nd Floor (Southwest corner of King & University)
Free admission and a selection of finger foods and drinks available. Also: raffle prizes!
Entering the city at the centre of the 20th century from unexpected angles, our 30+ contributors have returned to fill D166: The Berlin Project with the fractious, energetic and thoughtful energy of Germany’s capital. Come celebrate the launch of this very special issue!
Four notable and highly memorable writers from our latest issue will gather on the 19th to perform excerpts from their works. Meet some of our talented contributors in the extensive library of the Goethe-Institut, which boasts a superb collection of rare and fascinating books. Join friends, family and any good-looking strangers we pull off the street for great readings, good fun and a few cold drinks.
Relevant-themed costumes are encouraged (David Bowie, perhaps? Sally Boyles from Cabaret? Rilke? Strauss? Be creative and come have fun!)
