The last instalment in this series, this exclusive workshop is brought to you by the Studio for Media Activism and Critical Thought in partnership with Ryerson's Transmedia Zone. This workshop will focus on the work women are doing in games and on alternative forms of play and games being built by women and other marginalized groups. Participants must bring their own laptop or tablet. The event is FREE.
Dames Making Games is a local, not-for-profit feminist organization dedicated to supporting women interested in making, playing, and changing games. Dames Making Games “believe game-making can be an act of RESISTANCE, giving creators ultimate agency in the expression of their identities, politics, selves, genders and sexualities. Our work has the power to transform our communities, and positively impact industry policies and practice.” Dames Making Games has become an important voice in the Toronto gaming community by hosting workshops, round-tables, game jams and mentorship programs.
