WHAT IS THE BIG CITY BEAT BAZAAR?

* A Novel approach to enjoying Dance Music unlike anything being offered in Toronto at the moment.

* The Beat Bazaar is an event which combines a LOCAL MUSIC MARKET, a MUSIC SHOWCASE, a CONCERT, a DANCE PARTY, a TRADE SHOW, a USED MUSIC EQUIPMENT STORE and a MEAL OUT ON THE TOWN into a single, magical community event intended to bring birds of a feather together in order to enjoy their shared passion for music in many different ways.... in one amazing space.... all at once.

* A Community Music Market made up of local music enthusiasts, musicians, djs and artists. Where these people can bring all sorts of used music-related equipment from Stereos to records, record players, monitors, headphones, synths, distortion pedals, dj controllers, midi keyboards, chords, microphones, production hardware, production software (legally purchased), cdjs, turntables and literally anything and everything related to the enjoyment and production of electronic music.

* A sanctuary of sorts, where the exchange is horizontal, among a community of consumers, rather than vertically to large commercial stores. A place that values re-using and re-cycling valuable equipment rather than simply buying it new and throwing away the old (but still valuable)

* A community event where local businesses contribute by supporting the event with cool giveaways, merchandise and discount cards - - all of which can be won in a number of cool raffles and contests throughout the event.

* A Place where people who all share a common denominator - - DANCE MUSIC - - can come together NOT ONLY to Buy, Sell, Barter used music wares and records, but also meet others with similar interests, network, learn, inspire and is a great chance to socialize outside of the usual dance club, coat check lineup or the all-consuming internet.

* A daytime event which is held in a super spacious and super cool Art Space located in downtown Toronto which is easily accessible by car, bike or various forms of public transportation.

* Of course, the Beat Bazaar is also a great place to DANCE. After all, this is what it's all about - - making bodies move to amazing grooves.

* Buying / Selling is done between invited attendees, and the event organizers ask for nothing in return except for a cheap entry fee to hopefully help cover some event costs.

* Everyone is welcome to buy, sell and trade at this event

* There is no real limit to how much you can bring...

* However, HOW MUCH you bring will have different implications for participants..

NOTE: A Crate of Vinyl (~40 Records) counts as 2 items.

NOTE: A Pair of speakers count as 2 Items

b) Mix must be no less than 25 minutes

c) Mix must be no more than 35 minutes

d) Mix must be uploaded to Soundcloud

f) Include your DJ Name, Past DJ Experience (where you have played) and contact info.
