Cabbagetown Festival 2016
Join us this September for the 40th birthday of the Cabbagetown Festival!
The Cabbagetown Festival returns once again, this year celebrating its historic 40th ‘birthday’ Saturday September 10 and Sunday September 11, 2016. The festival takes over Parliament Street from Wellesley south to Gerrard, and Carlton Street from Berkeley to Parliament,
showcasing the very best of what makes Cabbagetown a culturally rich and diverse community. Festivities begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with an exuberant Opening Ceremony featuring Newchoir, Toronto’s first rock choir. Music and entertainment continue until 10 p.m. The fun returns Sunday at 11 a.m., winding down at 7 p.m. with a memorable closing showcasing the renowned TDot Batu, an Afro-Brazilian rhythmic group.
Local food. Local entertainment. Local fun.
Over 100 local businesses bring you the best of Cabbagetown. Get ready to feast on delicious international foods. Enjoy live entertainment – everything from jazz to Latin to big band to rock. Take the kids to the Cabbagetown Birthday Party at The Kids Zone, where they can take part in a host of activities including the Bouncy Castle and arts and crafts table; and enjoy a reptile show, balloon sculptor, face painting and more! Brought back by popular demand will be the Made-in-Canada artisan section, featuring the outstanding work of highly talented local artists.
Join the fun this September as we wish the Cabbagetown Festival a Happy 40th Birthday!
