LOFT Kitchen is now offering Basic Barista Training classes!

This Thursday we invite you to come try something new!

We have developed a full training certificate program for learning the skills of a Barista. Our experienced staff will take you through a highly caffeinated journey of developing new skills to assist you with new employment, current employment or impressing your friends this holiday season!

The full course is 4 hours total and divided between 2 classes at 2 hours each.

1st Class - Introduction to Coffee and Your Role as a Barista

We will learn about flavour profiles and basic techniques for making drinks. You will get a full tour of an espresso machine and gain practice behind the bar.

2nd Class - A Confident Barista: Practice! Practice! Practice!

Participants will gain lots of hands-on practice learning to make every drink, latte art, and proper maintenance of the machine.

**Participants who finish the full 4-hour course will be presented with a certificate and a personal job reference for finding new employment!**

Time: Thursday, Dec 11 @ 3-5 pm for the first break out group session.

Following session will be January 7th @ 3-5pm after the holidays!

Cost: 11.75 (covers costs of ingredients and materials used)

LOFT Kitchen is a non-profit Social enterprise. We believe in challenging the status quo about how people spend their money by encouraging a "Buy Social" school of thought. The money we make from our fantastic catering menu, our front of house Cafe, and gourmet grub options goes back into funding the Christie Ossington Nieghboorhood Center services. And while the kitchen and cafe focuses on assisting people under 30 find new and exciting employment options, this is non-profit certification course that is open to everyone. The full cost of the course is 11.75 to cover the cost of products (breakdown available) and all proceeds and extra donations will be put towards getting new equipment and making our space even better!
