Bad Movie Night Toronto presents NICK FURY: AGENT OF SHIELD
To celebrate the release of the new Avengers film, Bad Movie Night Toronto is delving into Marvel's dark and sordid past (see: the 90s) to bring you Nick Fury: Agent of Shield - a made-for-TV movie starring Baywatch hunk David Hasselhoff! It was likely meant to serve as a pilot for a full series, but don't linger on that thought for too long, else you'll be crippled by the depressing realization that we theoretically missed out on years of the Hoff delighting us with his curmudgeonly portrayal of Marvel's most famous cyclops.
As for the plot of the flick itself...
Colonel Nick Fury is an old warhorse that's been put out to pasture after his punch-first-ask-questions-later style of heroism becomes unfashionable with the administrative bean-counters (boo! hiss!) at SHIELD headquarters. But when the long dormant HYDRA threatens to unleash a biological weapon on Manhattan, it's the President himself that calls Fury back into action. Will our eyepatched protagonist be able to save the day? Well, yes, of course, but that's not really the point. What's most important here is seeing Hasselhoff chomp on cigars and deliver all manner of badass one-liners.
It's bound to be a MARVELous mess, so don't miss out!
