Artist in Residence: Marlon Griffith
Drake is excited to welcome Marlon Griffith as artist-in-residence throughout World Pride at the Drake Lab (June 21 – June 26). Griffith will engage the Queen West community in the “Powder Box” Project – decorating visitor’s necks with intricate stencils of imitation luxury brand logos using talcum powder, as a critique on the divide between the classes. Griffith got his start as a Carnival designer and has travelled the world creating work based on the costumes and rituals of Caribbean carnival traditions. Free.
