This year marks the 30th anniversary of the prize, and the second year in a row that the winer will receive an impressive $4,000 purse, making it the richest annual literary award for a poetry chapbook – a collection of no more than 48 pages, usually hand-stitched. This is one of the only awards recognizing poets and presses who make the artistic choice to publish in chapbook form.
