HOME FEELING: STRUGGLE FOR A COMMUNITY
Pioneer African-Canadian filmmaker Jennifer Hodge's Home Feeling: Struggle for a Community is an intimate portrait of Toronto's Jane and Finch community. Made in the 1980s the film focuses on the residents, mainly Black and new to Canada, interactions with political, social and economical systems and barriers in the city. Following the screening will be an interactive panel with journalist and activist Desmond Cole, community activist Tomas Kanene, and Yusra Ali of Black Lives Matter Toronto.
