Tori and Cate's Cupcakes
Tori and Cate's Cupcakes was born out of a mother's wish for her two youngest daughters. Owner Christina D'Onofrio's daughters Tori and Cate are Type 1 Diabetics, and she hated to see her children excluded from participating in all the celebratory events that sweets so often mark.
After 30 years as a clinical psychologist and her own harrowing spinal surgery, she decided to do something fun, and in some way contribute to making celebrations available to everyone regardless of dietary needs. Having grown-up and raised a family in the Bayview and Davisville area, she knew exactly where she wanted to open up shop.
Entirely nut-free, and with vegan, gluten-free, parve and of course diabetic-friendly options as well as old-fashioned sugar and flour cupcakes, Tori and Cate's cupcakes has a cupcake for everyone. They also make mini cupcakes, custom cakes, wedding cakes, and wedding cupcake towers. Regular cupcakes are 3.25$ each, ½ dozen for $18.00, or a dozen for $29.95, while gluten free and vegan options are $0.25 more per cupcake.
Flavours include S'mores and Dulce de Leche (two of the most popular), Mint Twist (chocolate mint with chocolate curls), Lemon Blossom (featuring a sweet pink rosette on top), Princess (you guessed it- pink with fun sprinkles), What's Up Doc (a carrot cake version), Red Velvet, Chocolate Decadence, Schnoodlebop (Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla and a cherry on top) and Hudson (named after the family dog!).
Using red cocoa, the Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla, Callebaut chocolate and house made graham crackers takes these wonderful cupcakes to the next level in decadence.
You can buy some baking supplies `- like toppings or speciality cupcake papers for assembly at home, but I suggest you leave it up to the team there.
