The Black Hoof

The Black Hoof Opens on Dundas West

The Black Hoof has opened in the former space of Cocktail Molotov on Dundas West. Billing itself as a charcuterie, the smallish restaurant is a partnership between the former owner of Little Italy's Colbalt and the ex charcutier at Amuse Bouche, Lucien and Canoe.

Serving dinner and late night drinks, The Black Hoof has a number of beers on tap, wine and a short menu that features foie gras, a prosciutto tasting, and cabbage and bone marrow soup.

The Black Hoof will be open from Thursday through Mondays from 6pm and will be serving food until 2am on weekends. Here's a look at the complete menu:

Is it just me or is charcuterie one of the big food trends of 2008? Food critics raved last year about Chris McDonald's Cava and Riverside's Pic Nic has been drawing a crowd. I suspect The Black Hoof will do the same and attract plenty of hungry stomachs from the bars on Ossington.

The Black Hoof is at 938 Dundas West. The phone is 416.551.8854
