Cirque du Soleil opens in Toronto this week with ECHO

ECHO by Cirque du Soleil opens in Toronto this week under the Big Top in South Etobicoke. The anticipated new production from the largest contemporary circus production in the world brings all the elements the Quebec company is known for.

Opening May 8 and running until the August long weekend, ECHO bills itself as the fusion of poetry, stagecraft, daring acrobatics and technology. The show 'explores the delicate balance between people, animals, and the world we all share.'

One of the key features of the new production is a big white cube that dominates the stage and changes its appearance throughout the show.

Performers are busy with rehearsals this week and we were lucky enough to get a sneak peek behind the scenes at the new production.
