Fat Ninja Bite
Fat Ninja Bite serves up some of the most satisfying Asian fusion food around. Found across from Pacific Mall, the restaurant is cozy and brightly lit, though seating is a bit limited.
The menu shows a wide array of Korean and Japanese influences.
A great place to start is the Dumplings ($4.99), which are essentially pan-fried gyoza potstickers. Stuffed with meat and vegetables, they're best topped with one of the many available sauces.
The Korean Pancake ($12.99) is close to a classic rendition and is hugely satisfying with bits of shrimp and cuttlefish throughout.
Don't miss the Chicken Katsu Burger ($8.99). The chicken is way too big for the bun but very juicy. It's drizzled generously with Japanese mayo and katsu sauce.
The pork in the Cheese Donkatsu Burger ($10.99) is a bit dry in comparison but the cheese filling inside dials up the flavour.
The Bulgogi Burger ($11.99) is topped with spicy coleslaw. There's lots of that classic bulgogi sweet-savoury flavour here and I imagine it would also go well with steamed rice.
For sides get an order of Taro Chips ($2.99) made fresh daily, sliced super-thin, and dressed with nori and a dash of pink Himalayan salt.
Save room for dessert. A scoop of the Parfait ($5.50) features a combination of ube and matcha-flavoured ice creams (all made in house) with charred marshmallow and Rice Krispies.
And, finally, for drinks there's an assortment of classic Japanese offerings like Japanese Green Tea and Calpico ($2.95).
