At the South Asian Film Festival

Last night I found myself at Innis Town Hall for the South Asian Film Festival. It was the second night of the fest and I had gone to catch John & Jane, a film I couldn't get tickets to at last year's TIFF.

John & Jane is a documentary that chronicles the lives of a number of different call centre workers in India. For me, the most facinating parts of the film were the "training" scenes that showed how Americans are brought in to train locals in the ways of American culture and teach "proper" diction.

The South Asian Film Festival will be screening more films at NFB Mediatheque all weekend. I'm thinking of getting tickets to The War Within which closes the fest on Sunday at 7pm.
