This Is Brampton
On the heels of Alessia Cara’s Grammy win, Jessie Reyez’s JUNO Award and Rupi Kaur’s sold-out global tour, the City of Brampton has emerged as a bona fide cultural hub that is fostering some of the world’s most creative and authentic talent.
On June 15, Brampton culture will take to the stage in a first-ever partnership with world-leading music festival, North by Northeast (NXNE), to spotlight some of the most exciting and budding artists who call Brampton home. This is Brampton will take over Toronto’s iconic live music venue at the Rivoli as part NXNE’s Tastemakers Club Land Series.
Hosted by multi-platinum music producer EestBound, who has produced tracks with Travis Scott, Young Thug and many more, the lineup was curated with the help of Noyz (recording artist), Denise Jones (artist management for Exco Levi), and Erin Ashley (Hip Hop Editor, NOW Magazine) to represent some of Brampton’s most exciting emerging talent:
• Vaz @vazmusic
• Selena Dhillon @selenadhillon
• Phab @1phab
• EverythingOShauN @EverythingOShaun
The event will also coincide with highly anticipated world premiere of “Superfly” – a remake of the 1972 classic re-imaged by Brampton’s own and newest inductee to the Arts Walk of Fame, Director X. New music from the soundtrack which includes “Walk on Minks” and “No Shame,” produced by award-winning rapper Future, will be played during the This Is Brampton showcase in celebration of Director X’s success.
Tickets are also available at the door for $10.
