Since November 2013, Fake Cops have produced THE DISASTER, a monthly free show where anything can happen. On the second Tuesday of every month, an audience pours into the back room at The Ossington to watch raw, honest, and often dumb-but-fun shows. Each month, we give 5 minutes to a changing roster of 5 of Toronto’s best comedic performers to do whatever they want. In an effort to push the format envelope, we ask that performers refrain from doing a traditional stand-up comedy set, and encourage outside-the-box thinking with new and different character monologues, songs, and off-beat sketches. Then FAKE COPS finish off the night with a fast-pace and funny improv set. The best part is that our show is FREE!

Providing a space for comedians to take risks has resulted in immense reward for the audience and performers. THE DISASTER began as an experiment to see what a comedian would do if they had 5 minutes to do anything their crazy mind could think of. It has since developed into some of the most cutting-edge and hilarious performances Toronto has seen.
