Day Of The Dead
“I'm running this monkey farm now Frankenstein, and I wanna know... WHAT THE FUCK YOU’RE DOING WITH MY TIME”
-Captain Rhodes
This Halloween weekend, join us for what might be the most overlooked and underappreciated film from the King of the Zombies himself, George A. Romero. Finalizing his original Dead trilogy with what is (in our opinion) the most gruesome, cynical, and yet gleefully energetic achievement of his career, Romero was faced with brutal criticism upon release for swapping the comic book tone of DAWN for a more chillingly realistic (and supremely nihilistic) approach. However, today the “who is the monster us or them?” themes are more relatable than ever, and audiences are finally able to see why this might just be his masterpiece.
Spilling with enough emotion, paranoia, and spools of guts (courtesy of the legendary Tom Savini) to fill an entire underground missile silo, DAY OF THE DEAD is essential Halloween viewing in every sense of the word.
This screening and others are made possible thanks to our wonderful sponsor Hollywood Suite. As always this will be a fully licensed event featuring a fabulous on-screen pre-show. Be sure to arrive early!
