Toronto now has office chair yoga

If you're looking to combat sitting disease without actually getting up, there's a new Toronto-based company you can check out.

Inna Miretski launched UTKATA Yoga early last month, but she's been practicing yoga for more than nine years. Other Toronto studios offer chair-based yoga, but as far as she knows, UTKATA is the only one that brings it directly into local offices.

"UTKATA's office chair yoga service is delivered in 30-minute sessions that do not require a mat or a change of clothes and are specifically designed to bring an island of peace and tranquility to the hectic office environment," says Miretski via email.

Each half-an-hour session costs $75 regardless of how many people participate. Miretski currently teaches her brand of yoga to three downtown-area offices and she'll also be running a workshop for staff at St. Michael's Hospital in the near future.
