Pan Am games store toronto

Toronto's first Pan Am Games store is open for business

The Pan Am Games are less than 100 days away, and there's plenty of lead-up activity that's starting to take shape. One example of this is the launch of a new merch store, which has just opened for business online and at the Eaton Centre.

The shop stocks all your standard merch items, from souvenirs to clothing, much of it branded with the super cheerful mascot Pachi. Personally I find this little porcupine vaguely creepy, but I can see kids embracing his over-the-top enthusiasm.

I'd suggest that many of these items strike me as the type of thing that someone will stumble upon at a thrift shop in 25 years and scratch their head in wonder over why anyone might have bought a Pan Am Games shot glass in the first place. But who knows? I still get excited when I run across CN Tower-branded merch from the 80s, so maybe this stuff will sell like hot cakes.
