OVO Sneakers

Would you pay $100K for a pair of Drake sneakers?

If Drake gives you a pair of sneakers, it could change your life. One of the two recipients of a pair of "unreleased promo" Air Jordon OVO-branded sneakers from Saturday's inaugural Drake Night - aka a Raptor's game where Drake hangs around - is selling them on Ebay. The shoes went up on Monday for a modest(ish) asking price of $300, and as of this post the bids are just shy of $100,000. This isn't just one crazy bidder, either - there appears to be a back and forth going on.

While the question of who would pay a hundred grand for a pair of sneakers is a fair one, we also have to ask - how does this make Drake feel? His generosity - okay, his publicist's generosity - stands to make at least one Torontonian a lot richer, so at least someone was able to help a Drake and/or Raptors' fan out with some extra cash, which I advise them to invest wisely.

Will the scalped ticket value for the next Drake Night soar as hopeful entrepreneurs seek their own Ebay swag fortunes? This could be the a dawn of a new era, Toronto. Welcome to Drake's gold rush.
