Jilly's? Is that place still there? There are a lot of people who think that the Riverside area would have gentrified a lot sooner if Jilly's and the hotel above it had left the lovely heritage building they occupy. There are just as many locals who disagree, and insist that Jilly's is as essential to the character of the east end as the library down the street. All I know is that it's a great place to find the roadies for bands playing the Opera House after soundcheck.
