Raw-More Cafe serves up waffles, panini, salads, gelato, crepes, espresso-based drinks, fresh juice and smoothies and makes for a fun spot to hang with friends, get some work done or have a fast lunch.

Inside, the casual space boasts high-ceilings and nice art on the walls. The seating isn't incredibly ample, with just a few small tables and some bar seating. On a sunny day sitting at a stool right in front of the window is a great way to catch some daylight.

The coffee here is actually pretty great, with a wide variety of hot and iced beverages, from espresso to chai to matcha. They do a freddo cappuccino (one of my favourites) for only $3.50, a freddo espresso for just $3 and an iced coffee for $1.80.

The cafe started as a way to showcase the Raw-More food line, a line of supplements and products like raw bars meant to promote a love of healthy eating and raw foods.

However, once Raw-More got into gelato-making, they were hooked. This is probably one of the more standout products of the cafe, all-natural gelato with no preservatives, GMOs, hydrogenated fats, or artificial flavourings, colours, stabilizers or emulsifiers.

We go for a teeny small size cup ($3) of the pistachio and it's creamy and flavourful. There are usually at least nine other flavours.

Waffles and crepes here are super simple, offered with the usual options of sweet or savoury toppings. We go for a sweet waffle ($5.50) with nutella, banana, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. With just a bit more whipped cream (like, more than a normal human amount), this is one waffle Leslie Knope would surely sink her teeth into.

With lots of light and lunch-counter style service that delivers speed, convenience, and good nourishment, Raw-More Cafe makes a great little stop in Markham for ten minutes or an afternoon.
