tears for fears video Toronto

Tears for Fears video shot in Toronto recreated 30 years later

No fooling - Tears for Fears shot their 1985 video for "Head Over Heels" in Toronto at Emmanuel College, and this year students couldn't resist filming a 30th anniversary tribute. Don't worry - while they filmed a new video for the track, they didn't recreate the music.

The students' cheesy digital video (these are clearly theology students, not arts students) serves more as an advertisement for the school than anything, and doesn't hold up to the campy oh-so '80s original if you don't have a silly pal in it or you're not on some kind of heavy hallucinogenic.

However, beyond imagining what it would be like to have this much time on your hands (the tribute apparently took three hours to film), it's interesting to see the library setting re-visited so many years later, and the videos sound great if you play them a split second out of sync - it achieves a really nice echo effect.
