Flickr Forum: April 4th, 2008 - Curves

The blogTO Flickr Forum is a weekly sampling of themed photographs taken by Torontonians and aims to not only feature the talent they possess, but also spur dialogue and reveal the stories behind the images.

Today's collection of Toronto photographs is made up of responses to our call for photos that fit the theme "CURVES". These images were all recently submitted to the blogTO Flickr pool.

To the photographers: we'd love to hear about your photos. A little info on where it was taken and the story behind the photo is always a great start.

To the rest of you, feel free to ask questions to the artists, submit photos to the blogTO Flickr pool for next week's consideration, or just sit back and enjoy our weekly mosaic.

Continue for links to larger versions, and to check out the next theme.

1. Untitled
2. i needed some green today.
3. 027 - March 29/08
4. The Joy of Having Balls
5. Night Moves
6. curvy
7. Drifting Shadows
8. Frozen Arc.
9. Function FollowSS Form

The next theme is "SPRING", and as always, is open to creative interpretation. We're looking forward to featuring some of your images again, on April 11th.

To be considered for next week's selections:
- In Flickr, add the tag "SPRING"
- Add to the blogTO Flickr pool
- If you have a photo already in the pool, and you would like it to be considered, remove the photo from the pool and re-add it. Only photos added in the past week will be considered.

If you have a theme suggestion, feel free to leave a comment.

LOL.. I was just debating wither I should make a comment on number 4..

I was thinking to myself..
"would I be crossing a line ?"
"would I be insulting the artist ?"

lol.. but with the image already having
the name "The Joy of Having Balls" ..
I can see that my work was done before I even
had a chance to punch in :P

All great pics..

Actually, my picture of the Humber River Pedestrian Bridge was because of other recent pictures I had seen of it. I wanted to find a different perspective from the usual ones I'd seen and it just so happened that it was a curvy one.

@James - to be fair to the artist, it wasn't really a submission to the "curves" theme. but the title was so hilarious, and it kind of fit the theme, so i included it.

glad to see the hilarity has ensued...

Thanks for choosing my shot "Function FollowSS Form". This is the first time I've purposely looked for and shot something expressly for the weekly theme. This jumped out at me as I walked down Bay Street and screamed "Curves Theme" at me :)

Great title #4; and some very cool shots this week.

Thanks for the feature.
I shot "i needed some green today." at Allan Gardens a few weeks ago when the snow was still making things difficult.
This little curl just popped out at me at the end of one of the greenhouses.

Hey - thanks for including me.
I'm fascinated by the forms ice takes and when I was this branch completely encased and forming a curve I couldn't resist trying to capture it. I would have been happier with a smaller DoF, but I was standing on ice at the time, so you get what you get.
