Guru Makes its World Wide Splash in Toronto

Yesterday marked the first time a major Bollywood film premiered in Toronto, and fans of Aishwarya Rai (voted the most beautiful Miss World, ever, in 2000) and Abhishek Bachchan came out in full force for the release of Guru. The pair actually showed up late due to flight scheduling issues, and while they couldn't stop for questions anyone within view of the couple didn't care. With tickets fetching exorbitant amounts of cash (the CBC suggesting people paid as much as $500 a ticket!) , the film is in a position to print money. Thousands showed up for the red carpet premiere, and many more are expected to see the movie this weekend.

So commenters, any of you drop the five bills needed to get a seat at the Elgin Theatre yesterday for Guru's premiere? If so, colour me jealous; I've yet to actually see Aishwarya in the flesh. Guru sees its official release tonight worldwide.
