Italian Film Festival @ Bloor Cinema

The 7th Annual Toronto Italian Film Festival kicks off its 5 day film extravaganza at the Bloor Cinema.

The festival opens with a 2001 film from Italy called Mari Del Sud (Our Tropical Island). A businessman, just about to go on a tropical vacation, finds his bank account emptied by his financial consultant. To save himself the embarrassment from friends and neighbours, he, with his family, lock themselves inside the house, pretending to have gone on their vacation. While inside, they plot their revenge. From what I understand, it's a comedy.

Screening Sunday June 12th at 3pm is the Canadian Shorts programme with all directors in attendence. Should be interesting.
