ReelWorld Press Conference

Celebrating its 5th year, The ReelWorld Film Festival held their press conference this morning down at the Paramount Theatres. Founder Tonya Lee Williams, remembering me from last year, warmly welcomed and thanked me for my continued support of the festival before the conference began.

Known mainly for their value and emphasis for diversity in film and video, the festival has been on the cutting edge and internationally recognized for its achievements in showcasing world cinema.

This year's line-up opens with a raucous comedy starring Vivica A. Fox in The Salon. She will be in attendance this year. Closing Night film is the South Asian epic Morning Raga starring legendary Bollywood star Shabana Azmi.

Those films aside ... the one that I'm really interested in seeing is Masters of the Pillow, a documentary of the making of the first Asian American porn movie called Skin on Skin.

The Festival runs April 13-17 at the Rainbow Cinemas Market Square with Galas being held at the Paramount Theatres. Industry Series workshops will be held at the St. Lawrence Hall on King.

Once I get my hands on some screeners, I'll be peppering blogTO with my picks you should see during this fine festival.
