13th Annual More than Just a Yardage Sale

13th Annual More than Just a Yardage Sale

Who takes their annual mega sales more seriously, Fashionistas or Crafters? This was going through my head when I saw the email for the More than Just a Yardage Sale. You gotta take the textile artists into account - they will be there in droves. Who's willing to do whatever it takes for that one of a kind piece? That's what I want to know. I know what Umbra fans will.

I hear that the sale is an annual ritual. The Textile Museum of Canada volunteers began organizing this annual sale 13 years ago and it's a major contributor to the museum's fundraising campaigns; it raises tens of thousands of dollars.

Shoppers will choose from an eclectic selection of yardages, yarns, vintage oddments, patterns, quilt fabrics, notions and crafts. Sale items have been donated from a variety of sources, most notably, from the complete collection of decorator samples from the estate of an interior designer.

Rain or shine, the sale will be held in tents outside of the Textile Museum on May 30th from 11am - 6pm and May 31st from 10am to 1pm. The museum is located at 55 Centre Avenue (Dundas and University). For more information call 416-599-5321 or email info@textilemusuem.ca.
