Prolific Vancouver producer Pat Lok has established himself as one to watch in 2015, reaching 1.5 million plays on Soundcloud and regularly appearing in the playlists of DJs and tastemakers worldwide. Blending futuristic funk and RNB with elements of classic house, his singles "Could Be Mine" and "Move Slow" received critical acclaim premiering on THUMP (Vice) and landing iTunes' features respectively. From official remixes for Todd Edwards and Olympic Ayres to bootlegs of Cashmere Cat and AlunaGeorge, his music is equally at home atop the Hype Machine charts, in BBC Radio One playlists, or in the club. The former DFA Records remix contest winner has earned support from dance music figures such as Dimitri from Paris, Todd Edwards,The Magician, RAC, Kastle and Goldroom.
After a gold star cojoling turn in the DFA remix competition for The Rapture’s “How Deep Is Your Love” (alongside Pat Lok), Cyclist has gone from strength to strength. A successful all-disco residency at Toronto’s Beam Me Up has seen the eclectic producer share the spotlight with the likes of Al Kent, Psychemagik and Eddie C.
