Before electricity, there were trains, and before trains, there were rivers, and these currents connected us together and made us a community.
Sunday August 14 marks the 13th anniversary of the Blackout of 2003, when the people of Toronto found that without power to keep life-as-usual moving that they could actually find a great connection with each other.
Join Maracatu Mar Aberto, Samba Elegua, Blokoloko and many many more musical guests along with the party bike and New Model Circus Army!
Meet us for a picnic at Jimmy Simpson park from 6-8:30 for samba, musical and dance workshops! Bring blankets and goodies to share!
Get Ready for surprises on a bike ride at 8pm OR join the foot parade at 8:30pm. And rememeber to bring supplies for the magical after party at 10 pm at a secret location
