Trinbago Festival Toronto

There's a huge Trinidadian food festival in Toronto next month

The largest Trinidadian food and music festival in Toronto is coming up this summer, and it's shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.

Taking over downtown Toronto for a weekend packed full of the best eats and beats of Trinidad and Tobago, the hugely popular Trinbago Festival is making its triumphant return this September.

Marking the festival's third year after an impressive showing of nearly 20,000 visitors in 2023, Trinbago is moving on up, setting up shops in bigger digs at Nathan Phillips Square after outgrowing their prior home at Yonge-Dundas Square.

Not everything is changing about the festival, though. You can still expect the same impressive showing of Trinidadian food vendors, live dance and music performances and great vibes that the festival has become known for in past years.

This time around, there'll just be even more of them!

Held annually to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Toronto's Trinidadian and Tobagonian community, this year's festival will also feature both the CN Tower and the Toronto sign illuminated in red, white and black on Sept 7, representing the colours of Trinidad and Tobago's flag.

If the festival itself isn't enough to give you a taste of the islands, one of the festival's major sponsors, Visit Trinidad and Tobago, will be giving away the chance to win a free trip to Trinidad and Tobago, so you can experience the country's vibrant culture first hand.

While the vendors and performers for this year's Trinbago Festival have yet to be announced, you can peruse our gallery from last year's event to begin building your appetite — doubles and callaloo and accras, oh my!

To keep up with the latest news on Trinbago 2024, be sure to keep an eye trained on the festival's Instagram page and website.

Trinbago Festival is taking place on Saturday, Sept 7 and Sunday, Sept 8 from 1 to 8 p.m., and is totally free to attend.
