OPEN NOW

• Playa Cabana Hacienda opens to the public Tuesday, July 16th at 14 Dupont Street. It's the 3rd outpost for the popular Mexican restaurant and tequila bar.
• Bero opens today, July 11th at 889 Queen Street East. The new Leslieville restaurant features a flexibly Basque- and Spanish-styled menu.
• Food & Liquor is now open at 1610 Queen West. Notably, the new late night snack bar also boasts a pretty awesome backyard patio.
• Cafe+Bar+Pasta is open as of this Saturday, July 13th, serving up coffees and pastries from 8am to 4pm. The 'bar' and 'pasta' components are just days away too pending liquor license approval.
• Sweet Snow Shave Ice, Toronto's newest food truck hit the streets this week serving up frosty Hawaiian-inspired treats in 25 naturally sweetened flavours like lychee, green tea and watermelon, and, cotton candy.

OPENING SOON

• El Catrin (18 Tank House Lane) a new Mexican concept, in The Distillery District is slated to open Tuesday, July 23rd in the former spot of Boiler House restaurant.
• Signs in the window indicate Kristamos Fish House is set to open at 443 Danforth Avenue, formerly Wimpy's Diner.
• Scaddabush, an eclectic Italian kitchen and bar from the same group behind Reds Wine Tavern is set to open soon at Square One (209 Rathburn Road West) in Mississauga.

CLOSED

• The Hoof Raw Bar and CafĂŠ at 923 Dundas Street West shuttered last week and the space is in flux once again. Come September, expect the restaurant to reopen as Rhum Corner, a new Haitian inspired concept from same owner, Jen Agg. (via The Grid)
• Bailiffs notices posted to doors and disconnected phone numbers don't fare well for Pachuco Restaurant or neighbouring Embrujo Flamenco Tapas Restaurant.

OTHER NEWS

• Grand Electric (1330 Queen Street West) now does take-out.
