Chef's Challenge Toronto

Photos of the 2nd annual Chef's Challenge kick off

The second annual Chef's Challenge in support of cancer research at Mount Sinai Hospital kicked off yesterday at the Sub Zero and Wolf Showroom with a number of the celebrity chefs on hand to offer a preview of what's to come at the main event, which will take place at the Metro Convention Centre in November. Hosted by Bobby Flay, the cooking competition will feature teams lead by Food Network stars, including Top Chef Canada's Mark McEwan as well as Chuck Hughes, Lynn Crawford, Massimo Capra, Nadia Giosia, and David Rocco.

In hopes of eclipsing the $1.1-million raised last year, when Gordon Ramsay hosted the event at the Carlu, the minimum amount required just to make into the audience is $2500, while the the top 60 fundraisers will be able to strut their stuff in the actual competition. Would-be participants better start charging for their home-cooking if they want to make the cut.
