TTC rolls out free WiFi to more subway stations

Good news TTC subway riders - the WiFi network continues to expand with the recent inclusion of Sherbourne and Castle Frank stations, bringing the total number of stations with the service to 17. Wind Mobile users can also access cell signals at these platforms.

The eastward roll out on Line 2 hasn't been advertised by the TTC itself, though it was made public by the Twitter account for TCONNECT in recent days.

While no one is about to hand out medals for the speed at which WiFi has been rolled out on the TTC, it's worth noting that the pace has been steady. TTC spokesperson Brad Ross tells me that there's lots of testing taking place on Line 2 right now, and that the Commission will likely have an announcement to make about wider coverage in a week or so.

In the meantime, pull out your phone if you currently use Sherbourne or Castle Frank stations. The signal is live.
